How does Epic Fraud Prevention work?
The app integrates with the MinFraud service by MaxMind to evaluate each order in real time. It assigns a fraud risk score, then compares it to the threshold you set. Orders below the threshold process normally, while higher-risk orders are flagged for review.
Do I need a MinFraud account to use the app?
No. The app includes protection for up to 300 orders per month using MinFraud’s service. If your store processes more than 300 orders, you can connect your own MinFraud account with API keys for unlimited order checks at low usage fees.
What happens when an order is flagged?
Flagged orders appear in the app’s dashboard for you to review manually. You can then decide whether to approve, cancel, or investigate further.
Can I change the risk score threshold?
Yes. You can adjust your threshold anytime in the app settings. This allows you to match your store’s tolerance for risk.
Will this app slow down my checkout process?
No. Fraud checks happen in real time without delaying the customer’s checkout experience.
Can I see the fraud score for every order?
Yes. Each order shows its MinFraud risk score in the dashboard, so you can monitor and compare results over time.
