Setting Up Epic Fraud Prevention for BigCommerce
Epic Fraud Prevention helps protect your store from fraudulent transactions in just a few minutes. Follow the steps below to get started, or watch the setup video for a full walkthrough.
Step 1: Install the App
- In your BigCommerce dashboard, go to the App Marketplace and search for “Epic Fraud Prevention.”
- Click Install and follow the prompts to add the app to your store.
Step 2: Configure Your Risk Threshold
- Open the Epic Fraud Prevention app from your BigCommerce dashboard.
- Set your preferred risk score threshold.
- Any order with a score above this threshold will be flagged for manual review; those below it will process automatically.
Step 3: (Optional) Connect Your Own MinFraud Account
- The app includes protection for up to 300 orders per month using MinFraud’s built-in service.
- If your store processes more than 300 orders, sign up for a MinFraud account with MaxMind to get your own API keys.
- In the app, go to the API Keys page, toggle the feature on, and enter your keys for unlimited order checks (with MinFraud’s low usage fees).
Step 4: Review Your Settings
- Double-check your risk threshold and API integration (if used).
- Save your changes to confirm.
Step 5: Start Monitoring Transactions
- Once setup is complete, Epic Fraud Prevention will automatically evaluate each order and flag high-risk transactions for review.
